I invited Alexis (as a subject matter expert) to talk to my group at FenX. She focused on how entrepreneurs can develop their public speaking and storytelling skills. Her presentation was great. I even took three pages of notes and learned a few things. She gave specific advice about what kinds of stories to use (personal vs organizational vs brand) and how to develop them. As a participant in a pitch competition this year, I had the pleasure of listening to Alexis as she trained my class in public speaking and storytelling. Her presentation was extremely engaging, with just the right amount of humor, easy to read slides, and encouragement mixed in. I took eight pages of notes on what she taught us, and ended up winning second place in the competition! Alexis provided a training session to a group of 20 nonprofit leaders and their coaches (over 80 people in all) participating in a pitch competition called SEED20. I worked with Alexis on a complex job interview presentation for a top-level sales position at my company. I went into the interview feeling well-prepared, and I came out with the job and a 25% increase in salary. I’m now eligible for sales commissions too!

Alexis coached me through what information was critical to include, how to structure the info, and how to visually organize it within the presentation. She coached me about how to deliver the presentation (as a confident public speaker) during the interview. And she helped me practice how to respond to interview questions, too.

I recently won a pitch competition because of Alexis’s advice. She helped me focus on the “three word pitch” to get to my core idea. And, her advice on “strategy” was one of the things that put me over the top. She helped me articulate my passion and expertise in a way that really impressed the judges.

I was nervous because had a big presentation to do (200+ attendees), and I’m not sure I could have done it without Alexis. She helped me find elements of my story I didn’t even know existed. She knew when to coach me, and when to let me work through elements of my presentation myself – AND helped me change course when the venue changed from a live event to a ZOOM presentation. I sought coaching with Alexis to work on overcoming anxiety associated with public speaking. As a graduate student and leader in my industry, I am often required to speak, and needed to be more comfortable in that area.
